The Town Nursery is situated in Holy Trinity church grounds. The school building houses the older children and has direct access to the adjoining house, which provides homely facilities for children under three. To the rear of the building there is a secure walled courtyard to which children have access. On the far side of the presbytery the nursery has exclusive use of a large grassed field complete with a wood, paved area, vegetable and flower beds, fruit trees, dens, play houses and a sandpit. All children make daily use of this facility.
The nursery is divided into four areas and facilities, activities and resources are appropriate for the ages of the children. The activities and resources change throughout the year to reflect the changing needs and interests of the children. Siblings are provided with opportunities during the day to meet with each other.
The Town Nursery has a legal duty to protect all the children in its care and to seek advice from the Oxfordshire safeguarding teams if they ever have a concern regarding a child. Parents will be involved in this procedure as long as doing so will not adversely affect the welfare of the child. Senior staff have specialist safeguarding training and all staff hold current Generalist Safeguarding certificates.
The nursery provides equal opportunities for all the children in its care and will, with the parent's consent, seek professional advice for any child whose progress is causing concern.
